SEPTEMBER 7-10, 2017
Christie Chiles Twillie started Music for Theatre Chicago in 2013 after realizing it was time to combine her artistic passions and talents. She has worked as a musical theatre pianist and music director for over 15 years. Christie's Bachelors and Masters studies were in Piano Performance at West Virginia University. She also has  minor in Dance from WVU. Christie is the Artistic and Operations Director for Piano Lessons In Your Home and spends much of her free time immersing herself in teaching piano, vocal coaching and theatre arts. Among her favorite musical theatre credits are Oliver, West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Cabaret (1998 Version), The Fantasticks, Spamalot, Urinetown, The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella.

Christie was recently the Artistic Director for Devonshire's production of 'A Little Night Music,' and the Composer of the original score for Fleetwood Jourdain's production 'Yelloman,' a play written by Dael Orlandersmith that was a 2002 Pulitzer Prize Finalist.  She is currently composing music for Northwestern University's Wirtz Center Mainstage Show, 'In The Red & Brown Water, written by Terell McCraney and Co-Directed by Henry Godinez and Jerrell Henderson. Additional 2017 fall projects include Music Directing, 'The Last Five Years,' (Big Noise Theatre), and 'Into The Woods,' (Devonshire Playhouse).

She researched filmmaking at "The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences" and "The American Film Institute". Her publications include articles in "Contemporary Designers" and "The Dictionary of Film and Filmmakers". Edith performs at the Devonshire Playhouse.

Music for Theatre Chicago kicks off it's 2017/18 season with 4 thrilling performances of Andrew Lippa's 'Wild Party.' The 1928 steamy whodunit is a favorite for musical theatre fans who love to watch the events unfold in the developing love triangle between Queenie (Britain Gebhardt), Burrs (Chris Causer) and Mr. Black (Korey White). The story, based on true events, takes place in Manhattan. Vaudeville stars and newly found lovers, Queenie and Burrs, decide to throw the end all of end all parties for their favorite friends. When Kate shows up with her newest acquaintance Mr. Black, Queenie can't help but pray on his innocence to the scene. Burrs, while making his own indulgences, still can't let Queenie go and so only bad things can happen with a jealous clown from Vaudeville loses his girl to a stranger. Who lives? Who dies? And who gets away with murder.
